Group Accountant

Plasmor Ltd is the UK’s leading independent Concrete Building and Paving Block manufacturer. Intrinsic to the company’s manufacturing capability the company has a strong engineering discipline which is instrumental to the efficiency of our production systems.

The Role

An opportunity has arisen for a Group Accountant based at our Head Office in Knottingley, West Yorkshire.

Key Responsibilities / Duties of a Group Accountant to include:

  • Completion of extended trial balance
  • Period analysis and reporting of labour, overhead and capital expenditure
  • Preparation of the management accounts
  • Collation of non-financial management reports and preparation of the monthly management pack for review.
  • Preparation of budgets and forecasts
  • Monthly preparation of draft accounts
  • Completion and timely submission of Group National Statistics returns
  • Annual Valpak return
  • Compile Monthly Payroll data

Other Responsibilities to include:

  • The jobholder will be expected to provide holiday / absence cover for other members of the finance team as and when required. Training in both purchase ledger and sales ledger will be provided to facilitate this.
  • The jobholder will be required to perform additional ad-hoc duties in accordance with changing business needs and as directed by appropriate management.

The candidate

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organised and able to prioritise workload.
  • Good Excel skills.
  • The ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • The ability to work well within a team environment.
  • Minimum qualification required AAT Level 3.
