Production Operations Manager

The ideal candidate would be an Engineering Graduate preferably in an Electrical Engineering discipline however Mechanical Engineering disciplines or HND / HNC with time served relevant experience will be considered.

The Role

Plasmor Ltd, the UK’s leading independent concrete building product manufacturer, is recruiting for the position of Production Operations Manager at its Western Division production facility, Widnes. As part of the company’s Senior Management team the candidate will play an integral part in sustaining the company’s market leading position holding responsibility for all production operations at the Widnes site. The candidate will report directly to the Divisional Director for all Production Operational activity.

The successful Candidate will hold responsibility for:

  • Safety and environmental issues.
  • Workforce management & leadership.
  • Optimisation of operational efficiency and performance.
  • Production and maintenance activity.
  • Raw materials and finished stock management.
  • Proposal of future improvements through continual process development.

The position is located at Plasmor (Halton) Ltd.

The candidate

The diverse nature of the role demands the candidate must be comfortable with a ‘management from the front’ approach in all activities.

An experience backed working knowledge of process control will be required to fulfil this position. Experience in a high-volume automated production environment is essential holding operational responsibility for process and employee leadership.

A degree of physical activity is intrinsic within this role, negotiating steps, ladders and above ground open-mesh floor walkways, accessing various areas of production machinery. There is also a requirement to wear items of personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriate to specific areas of the working environment.
