Alongside our work with local communities and charitable organisations, we’re dedicated to supporting our local economy by employing people from the area. We’re proud that 63% of our employees live within 10 miles of our manufacturing plants and office.
Our community
Where possible, we strive to work together with local communities. Whether it’s sourcing our materials from local suppliers, working with local businesses or even the local milkman who supplies us with milk for our Yorkshire tea.
We also support local community groups such as Hensall Community Garden who we donated blocks to so that they could provide the village with a safe, relaxing space to watch the word go by. We have also worked with local charities such as the Castleford Hedgehog rescue who have provided us with valuable information about how to boost the biodiversity here at our Knottingley works.

Did you know that a 20% of our current employee’s have worked across our sites for 20 years or more? And that the 24 members of staff who’ve retired from the company since June 2022, have totalled up an outstanding 650 years of dedicated service!
