The development of 33 new Keepmoat Homes at Gedling Green Nottinghamshire has been built using traditional construction methods (Brick and Block), a fabric first approach plus the addition of widespread technologies and excellent levels of workmanship. The pilot site has been successfully built to the Future Homes Standard, which are due to be introduced this / next year in preparation of Zero Carbon Homes.
Constructed out of our Aglite Ultima block for Inner Leaf and Party Wall, the project demonstrates the ability to use traditional methods of construction whilst still reaching the highest standard of building regulations seen in England. The Ultra-Lightweight Aggregate Blocks supplied to the project only travelled 18miles from the factory, which will have a significant impact on the embodied carbon, contributing to a long list of sustainably sourced materials on the project.
Masonry Construction; it is tried & tested, and works as a proven method of construction that is resilient and built to last. Long may it continue.
